The aim of this paper is to examine changes of elastic critical
load in a thin square plate with an inner cutout. Also the
influence of boundary conditions on the elastic critical load
will be investigated.
Finite element analysis was chosen as the means of deriving
the eigenvalues and their changes. The results show that critical
load values increase in plates with eccentricities due to cutouts
at plate centers, which are more remarkable in plates under
concentrated edge loads than in those under uniform edge loads.
