The moisture inside of the building has direct effects on the
durability of the building structure, thermal insulation
performance of the building envelope, and the comfort of
inhabitants. It exists amongs the air, and inside the walls.
The moisture control of the interior space is influenced by
the moisture performance of the envelope materials and
ventilation. The amounts of moisture transfer through the
building are determined by the absorption of moisture of the
interior wall surface, ventilation, and the moisture transfer
through the openings. As the amounts of absorption of moisture,
the temperature difference, and the wind are determinants,
the moisture transfer through the openings is the primary
factor for inside moisture control. It depends largely on the
shape, size, and location of opening.
