This study analyzes the research trends in the ‘Big Data Security’ field based on the review of the research papers of KCI and SCI journals. Using big data analysis method as well as traditional review methods, this study analyzes not only the general issues such as the number of papers published and results by academic areas, but the research topics. The big data analysis methods used in the study include Word Cloud and Latent Dirichlet Allocation(LDA).
The research trends can be summarized as follows: First, the number of papers published has been growing annually since the first publication in 2012. On average, about 10 papers have been published every year. Second, research topics of KCI and SCI papers are different: major topics of KCI papaers include ‘security about the new technologies’, ‘cyber-related security problems in national defence’, ‘COVID-19 related data utilization’, ‘smart industry’, and ‘integration of various chronologies’. On the other hand, topics of SCI include ‘development of IoT technology’, ‘utilization of machine learning–deep learning algorithm technology’ and ‘big data utilization related to autonomous driving cars’. Third, the common topics covered in both KCI and SCI journals can be summarized into 4 topics: ‘countermeasure against cyber attacks’; ‘blcokchain technology application to Big Data Security area’; ‘security enhancement of medical and health data and how to use them’; and ‘legal problems of Big Data Security’. Finally, it is found that as new technologies are continuously emerging, research on the Big Data Security is also progressing continuously to keep up with the situation.
