본 연구는 신문독자 특성이 구독력을 매개하여 지속 구독의도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 실증분석에 그 의의가 있다.
본 연구의 자료수집은 2020년 4월 16일부터 5월 5일까지 부산, 울산, 경남에 신문을 읽은 경험이 있는 자를 대상으로 서베이몽키(ko.surveymonkey.com)를 이용하여 전자설문조사방법으로 실시하였다.
총 604명의 응답이 수집되었으나 설문이 끝까지 완료되지 않았거나, 불성실한 59명을 제외하고 최종적으로 545명의 유효설문지를 통계분석 자료로 이용하였다.
수집된 자료는 코딩과정을 거쳐 IBM SPSS statistics version 25.0 for windows와 AMOS 25.0을 이용하여 분석하였다.
연구가설 검증을 통한 결과는 다음과 같다.
첫째, 외생변수인 지역 신문독자 특성은 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 통해 유용성, 신뢰성, 가독성, 탐색용이성의 4개 요인으로 묶였다.
둘째, 내생변수는 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 통해 읽기몰입, 읽기흥미와 정보이해, 구전의도, 지속 구독의도의 4개 요인으로 묶였다.
셋째, 신문독자 특성이 구독력에 영향을 미칠 것이라는 가설을 분석한 결과, 유용성, 신뢰성, 가독성, 탐색용이성은 읽기몰입에 영향을 미쳤으며, 유용성, 가독성, 탐색용이성도 읽기흥미와 정보이해에 영향을 미쳤다. 그러나 신뢰성은 읽기흥미와 정보이해에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다.
넷째, 구독력은 지속 구독의도에 영향을 미칠 것이라는 가설을 분석한 결과 읽기몰입은 구전의도와 지속 구독의도에 영향을 미쳤으며, 읽기흥미와 정보 이해 역시 지속 구독의도에 영향을 미쳤으나 읽기흥미와 정보이해는 구전 의도에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았다.
