The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between children''s perfectionism and social anxiety mediated by autonomic thoughts. 244 students of elementary school in J city, Jeonbuk participated in this study. The children''s social anxiety scale(Yu, 2003) was used to assess children''s social anxiety. The child and adolescent perfectionism scale(Lee, 2004) was used to assess children''s perfectionism. The children''s autonomic thoughts scale (Moon, Oh, Moon, 2002) was used to assess children''s autonomic thoughts. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Cronbach''α, independent sample t-test, One-way ANOVA, Pearson''s correlation, structural equation model using SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 18.0.

The major findings of this study were as follows:

First, social anxiety showed difference according to gender and the girl was higher than the boy. And there was difference according to grade and the 6th grade was higher than the 5th, but there was no difference according to birth order. And perfectionism did not differ according to gender, grade, and birth order. Finally, autonomic thoughts showed difference according to gender and the girl was higher than the boy. And there was difference according to grade and the 6th grade was higher than the 5th. And there was difference according to birth order and the third child was higher than the firstborn(only child) and the second child.
Second, social anxiety showed a positive correlation with the self-oriented perfectionism among sub-factors of the perfectionism but there was no correlation with the socially prescribed perfectionism. This means that the more self-oriented perfectionist, the higher social anxiety. And perfectionism showed a positive correlation with the autonomic thoughts. This means that the more perfectionist, the higher autonomic thoughts. Finally, autonomic thoughts showed a positive correlation with the social anxiety. The more autonomic thoughts children have, the higher the anxious of social situation of the children.
Third, perfectionism had influenced on children''s social anxiety directly and indirectly via autonomic thoughts.
Fourth, there was a difference in the mediation model according to gender.
