Dynamic responses of a submerged deck under incoming waves are evaluated and the parametric analysis are conducted to see the dynamic characteristic of the submerged decks with different support conditions. Four support conditions considered are 1) simply supported; 2) overhanging; 3) fixed ends; and 4) one fixed support at the middle. The wave forces are calculated and applied to the deck using the linear wave theory. The sequential procedure to apply the moving wave forces passing the deck is proposed and examined.
The proposed procedure is found to work properly for applying the wave forces upon the given submerged deck. The effects of various components such as wave lengths, wave periods and wave heights are thoroughly examined for all the structures with different support conditions.
It is found that the maximum displacements occur under waves with rather long wave lengths and short periods. The simply supported deck shows this trends more clearly than the structures with any other support condition. It is suggested that the more response evaluations of deck with various span lengths would be needed to generalize the response trend under incoming wave excitations.
