목표: 근감소증은 근육량의 감소, 근력의 감소, 신체기능 저하로 정의할 수 있으며 낙상, 신체장애 등 신체적 증상 뿐 만 아니라 삶의 질 저하와 의료비용 증가로 이어지는 질환이다. 인삼은 大補元氣 復脈固脫 益氣攝血하는 효과가 있으며 아미노산은 근단백 합성을 촉진하며 운동능력을 향상하는 효과가 있는 것으로 밝혀져 있다. 이에 본 연구에서는 홍삼과 아미노산이 정상 랫트의 지구력 운동에 미치는 영향에 대해서 실험하였다.
방법: 본 실험에서는 SD rat 45수를 정상군(N, n=5), 대조군(C, n=10), 홍삼투여군(H, n=10), 아미노산 투여군(A, n=10), 홍삼 및 아미노산 병행 투여군 (HA, n=10)의 다섯 개의 군으로 무작위 배정하였다. 실험군에는 3주간 홍삼 333.3 mg/kg B.W/day 및 아미노산 복합제 750 mg/kg B.W./day를 1일 1회 투여하였다. 대조군에는 증류수를, 정상군에는 식이 이외 아무것도 투여하지 않았다. 3주 후 체중, 수영시간, 양측 전경골근의 무게를 측정하고 심장천자로 혈액을 채취하여 혈액 검사를 실시하였다. 결과 홍삼투여군(H)의 수영 시간(921.3 ± 199.26 sec)이 대조군(C)의 수영시간(798.48 ± 156.37 sec)보다 유의하게 증가하였다. (p<0.05)
결론: 본 연구를 통해 홍삼이 쥐의 지구력 운동의 향상 효과가 있는 것으로 추정할 수 있다.
