The purpose of this study is to examine the domestic and foreign cases of gentrification phenomenon caused by urban regeneration and to find a countermeasure. Gentrification has problems such as
demolition of communities due to migration of foreign capital due to inflow of external capital.
France has undergone a gentrification phenomenon due to the implementation of large-scale commercial function policies, overcame through central government policies and vital Cartier policies, and the UK has achieved creative urban revitalization through joint public-private partnerships with the Hackney Project and the Shoddit Development Trust.
The United States utilized the existing declining area as an opportunity for regional revitalization through gentrification, and Japan overcame it through the establishment of a civil cooperation system. In Korea, we tried to cope with gentrification in Seongsu-dong, but it has not been solvedyet. Through overseas cases, it is time for effective measures against gentrification in Korea.
