본 연구의 목적은 아동기 외상경험과 청소년의 또래애착의 관계에서 자아분화의 조절효과를 알아보는 것이다. 이를 통해 향후 청소년 대상 교육 장면이나 상담을 위한 개입 전략을 세우는데 기초 자료를 제공하는 목적이 있다.
이 연구의 참가자는 504명의 고등학생이었다. 아동기 외상경험 척도, 또래애착 척도, 자아분화 척도가 측정 도구로 사용되었다. 자료는 t-검정, 상관분석 및 다중회귀분석에 의해 분석되었다.
첫째, 아동기 외상경험, 자아분화, 청소년의 또래애착에 대한 성별에 따른 차이를 연구한 결과, 아동기 외상경험에서 여학생이 남학생에 비해 더 높은 수준으로 나타났다. 그러나 자아분화와 또래애착에서는 성별에 따른 차이가 나타나지 않았다. 둘째, 아동기 외상경험, 자아분화, 청소년의 또래애착 간에는 유의한 상관관계가 있다. 아동기 외상경험과 자아분화 간에, 그리고 아동기 외상경험과 또래애착 간에 유의한 부적상관이 있었으며, 자아분화와 또래애착 간에는 유의한 정적 상관이 있었다. 셋째, 아동기 외상경험과 청소년의 또래애착의 관계에서 자아분화 조절효과가 통계적으로 유의하였다.
본 연구 결과를 통해 부모로부터의 학대 및 방임이 청소년의 또래들과 안정적 애착관계 형성에 부정적 영향을 미치고, 자아분화가 이를 조절하는 역할을 확인하였다. 청소년을 대상으로 하는 교육 장면이나 상담을 위한 개입 전략을 세우는 것에 도움이 될 것이다.
