본 연구는 치위생학과, 보건계열, 일반계열의 구강건강관련요인이 구강보건 지식, 태도, 실천에 미치는 영향을 파악하여 대학생들의 구강관리능력 향상을 위한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다. 본 연구는 IRB 승인 후 2017년 5월 15일~2017년 12월 1일 까지 부산지역 대학생 363명을 대상으로 설문지를 작성하도록 하였다. 불성실한 응답 31부를 제외한 총 332명의 설문지를 분석한 결과 다음과 같은 결론을 얻었다.
대상자의 계열에 따른 구강건강관련요인을 분석한 결과, 일일 칫솔질 횟수, 칫솔질 시간, 올바른 칫솔질 방법, 구강보건관리에 대한 관심도는 치위생학과에서 가장 높게 나타나 통계적으로 유의한 차이가 있었다(p<0.001).
대상자의 계열에 따른 구강보건지식을 분석한 결과, 치위생학과와 보건계열은 ‘칫솔질 할 때 혀도 닦아야 한다’, ‘저녁 식사 후와 자기 전 칫솔질을 해야 한다’ 2점 만점에 2.00±0.00점으로 나타났고(p=0.018), 구강보건태도를 분석한 결과, 구강보건태도 5문항 모두 치위생학과가 가장 높게 나타났으며, 치위생학과, 보건계열, 일반계열 순으로 나타났다(p<0.001). 구강보건실천을 분석한 결과, 8개의 항목에서 치위생학과가 전체적으로 높게 나타나 통계적으로 유의하였다(p<0.001).
대상자의 구강보건지식, 태도, 실천 간의 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 유의한 양의 상관관계가 나타났다. 즉, 구강보건지식이 높을수록 구강보건태도가 높아지는 것으로 나타났고, 구강보건지식이 높을수록 구강보건실천이 높아지는
것으로 나타났으며, 태도가 높아지면 실천이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다(r=0.391∼0.741, p<0.001).
구강건강관련요인이 구강보건지식에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여, 계열을 통제한 상태에서 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과 칫솔질 시간(t=2.378, p=0.018), 구강보건에 대한 관심도(t=1.914, p=0.049), 칫솔질 교육 경험유무(t=1.803, p=0.047)에서 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 구강보건지식에 대한 설명력이 28.0%로 나타났다.
구강건강관련요인이 구강보건태도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여, 계열을 통제한 상태에서 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과 칫솔질 방법(t=2.462, p=0.014), 혀 클리너 사용유무(t=2,036, p=0.043)에서 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 구강보건태도에 대한 설명력이 63.6%로 나타났다.
구강건강관련요인이 구강보건실천에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위하여, 계열을 통제한 상태에서 다중회귀분석을 실시한 결과 치실 사용유무(t=2.432, p=0.016), 치간칫솔 사용유무(t=2.258, p=0.025), 칫솔질 교육유무(t=2.879, p=0.004)에서 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 구강보건실천에 대한 설명력이 62.3%로 나타났다.
이상의 결과로 대학생들의 구강건강을 합리적으로 관리할 수 있도록 방법을 모색하고 향후 나아가 대학생들의 구강건강을 향상시키기 위한 대학교의 자발적인 참여와 국가 차원의 대학보건정책 수립 및 대학 내 구강보건교육 관련 교과목 개설이 필요할 것으로 사료된다.
