The middle school sports club is operated differently depending on each school. The job attitude of sports instructors like ‘how to perform their own role’ is considered very important factor in determining the quality of instruction. The reason why they organized contents and dedicated in lesson of the middle school sports club(George & Jones, 2008). The perceived role stress of the sports club instructor in middle school, however, has an negative effect on job attitude, which is happened by the ambiguous direction of PE(physical education) teacher, unclear class goal, lack of recognition on their own duties.
To achieve this objective, 275 sports instructors were surveyed from middle school in Busan. They were sampled by convenience sampling method. The questionnaire was composed of 25 items including role conflict 6, role ambiguity 5, self-efficacy 5, job satisfaction 4, and general characteristic 5. In order to maintain the consistency of the response results, all the items were used with the Likert 5 point scale. The data were analyzed with frequency analysis, exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach’ α coefficient calculation, correlation analysis, simple and multiple regression analysis using IBM SPSS 23.0. All statistical significance levels were set to α = .05. The results are as followed.
First, role stress of sports club instructor had negative influence on self-efficacy in middle school. Second, role stress of sports club instructor had negative influence on job satisfaction efficacy in middle school. Lastly, self-efficacy of sports club instructor had positive influence on job satisfaction efficacy in middle school. This study shows the cause of role stress, when they perform their own work as a sports club instructor. By deleting this, it was found that it was possible to improve self-efficacy and important to set conditions that allowed to teach more faithfully. Therefore, the principal or the physical education teacher should grasp the limit of the role of sports club instructor and strive for effective teaching by eliminating negative factors on the roles of sports club instructors in middle school.
