The number of single households in Korea is steadily increasing. single household around university town have a problem such as energy poverty and housing poverty, but support and policy about problem is very scarce. Quantitative analysis of living condition and thermal environment is needed to provide welfare services for single household around university town. So, This study analysis living condition and thermal environment of single household around university town and purpose about presenting basic data for improving thermal environment of single household aroud university town.
For purpose, Survey about living condition and thermal environment was conducted about 61 households and analysis about 50 households. 42% object of investigation is included in rent fee about payment form about Energy cost. They live an average 13 hours a day during the semester, and they live an average 16.8 hours a day during the vacation.
As a result of analysis about the thermal environment, they wear the cloth about 0.12~1.55clo in the house. The thermal environment of the subject was classified into three clusters according to international standards, and There is a significant relationship between average temperature to each cluster and the three factors which are subjective satisfaction, indoor clothing levels, heater retention ratio. And then The more thermal enviroment levels, ratio of house that is included of payment form of Energy cost high. when consider like this things, payment form of energy cost is affected to making thermal enviromental of single household around university town. Also it is considered that thermal environmental around university town is affected to levels of insulation.
