본 연구는 부모양육태도가 고등학생의 학업실패내성 및 학습된 무기력에 미치는 영향을 알아보며, 나아가 학업실패내성이 부모양육태도와 학습된 무기력 사이에서 매개변인으로 유의미한 영향을 미치는지 알아보고자 하였다.
이와 같은 목적을 달성하기 위하여 다음과 같은 연구 문제를 설정하였다.
첫째, 부·모양육태도가 학습된 무기력에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?
둘째, 학업실패내성이 학습된 무기력에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?
셋째, 부·모양육태도가 학업실패내성에 미치는 영향은 어떠한가?
넷째, 부·모양육태도와 학습된 무기력 관계에서 학업실패내성의 매개 효과는 어떠한가?
본 연구의 대상은 경상북도 안동시에 소재한 4개의 고등학교 2학년 503명(남 227명, 여 276명)이다. 설문은 부모양육태도 질문지, 학업실패내성 질문지, 학습된 무기력 질문지로 구성하였다. 연구결과 분석에는 SPSS 22.0을 사용하여 기술통계, 상관관계분석, 회귀분석이 사용되었다.
본 연구에서 얻은 주요 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다.
첫째, 부와 모의 애정적 양육태도는 학습된 무기력에 부적 영향을 미쳤으며, 부와 모의 통제적 양육태도는 학습된 무기력에 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
둘째, 학업실패내성이 학습된 무기력 전체에 유의미한 부적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 학업실패내성 하위 요인 중 감정, 행동 순으로 부적 영향을 미쳤다.
셋째, 부와 모의 애정적 양육태도는 학업실패내성에 정적 영향을 미쳤다. 모의 통제적 양육태도는 학업실패내성에 부적 영향을 미쳤으나, 부의 통제적 양육태도는 유의미한 영향을 미치지 못했다.
넷째, 학업실패내성은 부와 모의 애정적 양육태도와 학습된 무기력 사이에서 부분 매개 역할을 하는 것으로 나타났고, 부와 모의 통제적 양육태도와 학습된 무기력 관계에서도 부분 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 학업실패내성의 하위 요인은 부와 모의 애정적 양육태도와 학습된 무기력 관계에서 과제수준선호와 행동이 부분 매개를 나타냈고, 부와 모의 통제적 양육태도와 학습된 무기력 관계에서는 감정이 부분 매개를 나타냈다.
본 연구 결과, 고등학생의 학습된 무기력을 감소시키기 위해 부모의 애정적 양육태도와 함께 자녀의 학업실패내성의 증진이 필요함을 시사한다.

Abstract

The Mediating Effect of Academic Failure Tolerance on the Relationship between Parental Rearing Attitude and Learned Helplessness of High School Students

This study aimed to investigate influence of parental attitude on school failure tolerance and learned helplessness of high school students and to further investigate significant influence of school failure tolerance on parental attitude and learned helplessness as a mediator variable.
Following research problems were set up in order to achieve the purpose.
First, what is the influence of parental attitude on learned helplessness?
Second, what is the influence of school failure tolerance on learned helplessness?
Third, what is the influence of parental attitude on school failure tolerance?
Fourth, what is the mediating effect of school failure tolerance on relationships between parental attitude and learned helplessness?
Objects of this research were 503 students (227 male students and 276 female students) in 2nd grade of 4 high schools located in Andong, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Survey was composed of a parental attitude questionnaire, school failure tolerance questionnaire, and learned helplessness questionnaire. For analysis of research result, descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were done using SPSS 22.0.
Summary of main research result is as follows.
First, it was found that parental attitude had significant influence on the whole learned helplessness. It was found that father''s and mother''s affectionate parental attitude among sub-factors of parental attitude had negative influence on the learned helplessness and that father''s and mother''s disciplinary parental attitude had positive influence on the learned helplessness.
Second, it was found that school failure tolerance had significant negative influence on the whole learned helplessness. In order of emotion and behavior among sub-factors of school failure tolerance, they had negative influence.
Third, affectionate parental attitude of father and mother had positive influence on the school failure tolerance. Mother''s disciplinary parental attitude had negative influence on the school failure tolerance but father''s disciplinary parental attitude did not have significant influence.
Fourth, it was found that school failure tolerance played a partially intermediary role between affectionate parental attitude of father and mother and learned helplessness and that it also played a partially intermediary role between father''s and mother''s disciplinary parental attitude and learned helplessness. As for sub-factors of school failure tolerance, task difficulty preference and behavior showed a partial medium in relationships between father''s and mother''s affectionate parental attitude and learned helplessness while emotion showed a partial medium in relationships between father''s and mother''s disciplinary parental attitude and learned helplessness.
The result of this research implies necessity for improvement of children''s school failure tolerance together with affectionate parental attitude in order to reduce learned helplessness of high school students.
