Abstract
Relationship between Metabolic syndrome and Triglyceride/High-density Lipoprotein Cholesterol ratio in Male White-Color Workers

Propose: triglycerides(TG)/high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) ratio is one of the main predictive indices for cardiovascular disease, but there have hardly been researches regarding male white-color workers. Thus, the aim is to identify association between TG/HDL-C ratio and metabolic syndrome.
Methods: This survey was conducted by the study of ‘Development and Test on Health Management Program to Preventive the Metabolic Syndrome among Korean Workers(Hosihn Ryu, 2014)’ and the data were analyzed by secondary analysis method. The subjects of this study limited to 470 male white-color worker’s health data investigated in 2014. The association between metabolic syndrome, its components and TG/HDL-C ratio was examined.
Results: Numbers of metabolic syndrome group were 70(14,9%) for male. The level of TG/HDL-C ratio increased according to the number of metabolic syndrome components (P-value<0.001). In multi-variate logistic analysis with adjustment for potential confounders, odds ratios of the Quartile4 group for metabolic syndrome were 21.4, compared with those of the Quartile1 group.
Conclusion: Our results demonstrate the significant relationship between TG/HDL-C ratio and metabolic syndrome.
