High Density Lipoprotein(HDL) Cholesterol Status and
Its Related Factors in Korean Middle Aged People

(Abstract)
This study was conducted to evaluate High Density Lipoprotein(HDL) Cholesterol status and its related factors in Korean middle aged people(40-59 years old).
The findings of this study were based on the data obtained from the Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (KNHANES) between 2009 and 2013.
The major findings of this study were as follows:
In bivariate analysis, HDL cholesterol level was significantly different by sex, age, degree of obesity, smoking status, exercise, walking status (p<0.05).
The multivariate analysis revealed that HDL cholesterol level was lower in cases of men, when income of household was high, when person was obese, smoker, when person did not exercise, and when person had intaked excessive carbohydrate(p<0.05).
The study results imply that community-based health education regarding desirable health behavior and proper eating habit should be implemented and that related policies should be established.
