The lack of sufficient discharge data being stored across Korea has made it difficult to assess reliable estimates of the long-term discharge while relatively sufficient rainfall data are available. Water resource planning requires the calculation of natural inflow, and this information is needed for in hydrological applications such as reservoir management and analyses. This study aimed to develop an integrated model for more reliable simulation of natural inflow in ungauged basins. Continuous simulation of natural flow for ungauged watershed is a methodology being developed where no flow records exist. However, the uncertainties in modeling rainfall-runoff relationships have not been properly addressed. In this regard, this study investigated the uncertainty associated with rainfall variability and rainfall-runoff model parameters. In addition, this study aimed to develop a regionalization model of the parameters in conjunction with the watershed characteristics (e.g. area, slope and length) for estimating natural flow at ungauged watershed. First, we applied a Bayesian Markov Chain Monte Carlo scheme to the NWS-PC rainfall-runoff model that has been widely used throughout the world. The NWS-PC model is calibrated against observed daily runoff, and thirteen parameters in the model are optimized as well as regionalized with the watershed characteristics using Bayesian GLM. Finally, a comprehensive discussion with various watersheds is provided.
