The purpose of this study is to compare vocabulary presented in high school English textbooks, EBS English materials, and English test in CSAT. The policy that 70% of the CSAT English test should be taken from EBS English materials began in the year 2010 in an effort to cut down on private education expenses and to strengthen public education. Since the policy began, however, there has been few research that looked into the vocabulary presented in the high school textbooks, EBS English materials and English test in CSAT. Thus, in this thesis, the researcher tries to investigate whether the vocabulary presented in high school English textbooks are reflected in EBS materials and also in English tests in CSAT.

This study has four objectives :
(1) Is there difference in the number of vocabulary among high school English textbooks, EBS English materials, and English test in CSAT?
(2) How much is the vocabulary in high school English textbooks reflected in EBS English materials?
(3) How much is the vocabulary in EBS materials reflected in English test in CSAT?
(4) How much is the vocabulary in High School English Textbooks reflected in English test in CSAT?
For the first research question, the results show that there was much difference in the number of vocabulary among High School English textbooks, EBS materials, and CSAT tests. For High School textbooks, textbooks published by N publisher presented 442 more words than the textbooks published by Y publisher. On the other hand, for High School Practical EnglishⅠand Ⅱ, the textbooks published by Y publisher presented 1007 more words than the textbooks published by N publisher.
For the EBS English materials, the materials in the year 2015 have relatively higher lexical density than other years’. In case of CSAT, the English test in the year 2013 has most number of vocabulary and thus the students might have experienced more difficulty reading passages in that year than other years.
For the second research question, the rate of the vocabulary in high school English textbooks reflected in EBS English materials is very low. For the third question, the vocabulary in CSAT and EBS English Materials does not show high rate of correspondence. For the fourth research question, the average percentage of the vocabulary correspondence between English Test in CSAT and High School English Textbooks is very small at 7%. Overall the lexical consistency of the English test in CSAT and English textbooks is very low. For this reason most of the high schools don''t use the textbook to prepare the English test in CSAT. This means that the students are forced to study EBS materials and the public education still do not act well.
Based on the results mentioned above, the study suggests that English tests in CSAT have to reflect EBS English Materials and textbooks more in order to achieve the policy which the Ministry of Education proposed. One more suggestion is that the High School English textbooks present more vocabulary so that the student are better prepared to read texts in EBS materials and also in CSAT English test.
