Objective : This study was designed to analysis of characteristics in patients with craniofacial hyperhidrosis and palmar/plantar hyperhidrosis by nasal endoscopy and body composition test.
Methods : 20 craniofacial hyperhidrosis patients and 22 palmar/plantar hyperhidrosis patients who answered questionnaires and was checked by nasal endoscopy and body composition test were subjects of this study. Qudstionnaires estimated life quality of hyperhidrosis patients and classified patients into cold or heat syndrome. The degree of obesity were evaluated and compared by 3 indices; BMI(Body Mass Index), PBF(Percent Body Fat), WHR(Waist-Hip Ratio). State of nasal cavity were evaluated and compared by 4 indices; Color of mucous membranes, Humidity of the mucous membrane, Swelling of mucous membranes, Aspects of runny nose.
Results : BMI, PBF and WHR were higher in craniofacial hyperhidrosis patients than palmar/plantar hyperhidrosis. Rhinitis score was no significant different between craniofacial hyperhidrosis patients and palmar/plantar hyperhidrosis. There was positive correlation between Rhinitis score and DLQI(Dermatoligy Life Quality Index) score. Heat syndrome ratio was higher in craniofacial hyperhidrosis than palmar/plantar hyperhidrosis.
Conclusions : The degree of obesity was higher in craniofacial hyperhidrosis patients than palmar/plantar hyperhidrosis.
