The purpose of this study was to examine concept of parental wisdom for juvenile parent. For the purpose, case studies were analyzed the data, FGI results from 6 educational experts and 9 related experts who work in that field, needs of 9 juvenile parent and concept mapping based on interview 9 juvenile parent, a Parent Education Program for Promoting Parental Wisdom was developed. Effectiveness of the program was also verified after being conducted. Two research questions were studied:
First, to develop a parents education program of juvenile parent the process of planning, constructing, conducting and evaluating was done. In the stage of a program planning, based on a literature review, FGI results from 6 educational experts and 9 related experts who work in that field and needs of juvenile parents in that field, an object and a goal were set up. In the stage of a program constructing, a Parent Education Program of Parental Wisdom model was developed and a preliminary program was made up such as deriving a constituting principle and drawing an outline by organizing program elements. In the stage of conducting and evaluating, the preliminary program was revised and complemented from expert ratings. Through these stages, the Parent Education program of Parental Wisdom was developed. This program consisted of 5 sessions with constituting areas: Understanding parent, Baiancing parental role and Making relationship.
Second, experimental and control groups were designed to analyze the effectiveness of the program according to a measuring time before, second, third and after. For the verification of effectiveness in this program, the homogeneity of experimental group and control group was verified. Multi-level model analysis was done and verified based on comprehensive reviews by participants and a leader.
The findings of this study are consolidated as follows. The parents education program of parental wisdom influenced significantly (1)on the enhancing parental wisdom (2)on the enhancing development of parent-child relationship (3)on the communication ability and (4)on enhancing maternal efficacy. In conclusion, the program is expected to deliver practical benefits to enhancing parental wisdom of the juvenile parents The control group analysis verified the effectiveness of the program. Limitations to the current study and recommendations for future research are discussed.
