This study was purposed to investigate whether phosphorus-related nursing intervention affect physiologic indicators of hemodialysis patients.
The subjects were 152 people who were received hemodialysis from one hospital in Daegu-city from May 2013 to February 2015. They checked physiologic indicators (serum Ca?P and phosphorus level) 3times on pre-intervention, post-intervention, and 6 months later after post-intervention and answered the questionnaire to figure out effects of diet habits, phosphorus-related knowledge and medication adherence.
Patients ratio had serum Ca?P to less than 55mg²/dl²and serum phosphorus to less than 5.5mg/dl on post-intervention were 73.6% and 67.1% respectively (47.4% and 33.6% on pre-intervention).Good diet habits and level of knowledge influenced physiologic indicators significantly.
This study was identified that appropriate nursing intervention contributed to result of physiologic indicators. However patients ratio of serum Ca?P to less than 55mg²/dl²?and serum phosphorus to less than 5.5mg/dl was not significant between on post-intervention and 6 months later. Therefore developing of new intervention program and periodic applying of intervention need to improve fatigue of intervention and continuous management after intervention.
