This study tried to investigate the measure for the improvement and development of the after school programs based on the analysis of the experience and meaning of the after-school program instructors in special education school, and furthermore to offer fundamental data to increase the quality of the after-school education of all. For the data, the in-depth interviews of eight instructors were conducted who teach at the after-school programs for secondary education in special education school. The data was analyzed inductively.
The results of this study are as follows. At first, the instructors experienced the difficulties but felt it worthy as teaching students with disabilities was a pleasant work as well as a burdening task. Secondly, as a profession, the instructors were found that they were given an inadequate treatment compared with what they worked for the class. Thirdly, the instructors had a variety of opinions on the development of the after-school programs.
This thesis suggests a follow-up study of the development plan of the operation of the after-school programs and the support plan for the instructors.
