Whole body vibration (WBV) has recently emerged to develop entire muscular system rather than developing a specific area. WBV, which was newly introduced to train the muscular function in 1990s, is a new method of training widely used in various areas including sports team, rehabilitation clinic and fitness club, especially in advanced countries these days.
However, the study on the effect of whole body vibration on independent exercise load of muscles of lower limb is performed.
Therefore, this study want to prove the effect during the Front Squat on Angle- whole body vibration providing simultaneous stimulation exercise load in the effect of the muscle activity.
Ten healthy men volunteers(age20 years, height 179±1.79 cm, weight 69±6.83 kg) were selected. Subjects performed Front squat of the half squat exercise on the Angle-whole body vibration(Angle: 0°, 10°, 20°/ Hz: 20Hz, 30Hz, 40Hz)
EMG signals three leg muscles(VL: Vasuts Lateralis, RF: Rectus Femoris,
VM: Vasuts Medialis) were taken and analyzed. The exercises were performed both with 5 second duration/ 3 repeats on the Angle-Non-whole body vibration of the 0°, 10°, 20° and performed both with 5 second duration/ 3 repeats on the whole body vibration each of the 20Hz, 30Hz, 40Hz.
In the result, differerce in the intensity of the vibration, EMG signals appears that VL(Vastus Lateralis) of the muscle of lower limb were higher(p<0.05) 40Hz compared with intensity(20Hz, 30Hz, 40Hz) in the vibration.
Also, VM(Vastus Medialis) of the muscle of lower limb were higher(p<0.05) 30Hz and 40Hz compared with intensity(20Hz, 30Hz, 40Hz) in the vibration
Changes in muscle activity accordign to the angle of inclination of 0°, 10°, 20° EMG signals appers that VL(Vastus Lateralis) and VM(Vastus Medialis) of the muscle of lower limb were higher(p<0.05) angle 20° compared with another angle.
Difference in the angle of inclination, and changes in stimulus intensity of the vibration, EMG signals appear that VL(Vastus Lateralis), RF(Rectus Femoris), VM(Vastus Medialis) all section of the muscle of the lover limb were higher(p<0.05) 10°, 20° and 40Hz(VL, RF) and 10°/20Hz, 30Hz, 40Hz/ 20°/30Hz, 40Hz(VM) compared with the all sections.
As a result of this study, Anlge-whole body vibration exercise of the Squat
more independent simultaneous stimulation in more effective in stimulating the activity of muscle of the lower limb. Each what is independent of the stimulation is determined by their synergy occurred.
