대학생들의 위험행동에 대해 정서적 측면의 영향을 살펴보기 위하여 긍정 및 부정 정서에서 대학생의 위험인식과 위험행동이 어떻게 달라지는지를 확인하였고, 성별의 차이도 살펴보았다. 또한 이 관계에 의도적 통제와 감각추구 성향이 미치는 영향에 대해서도 확인해보았다. 대구 지역의 대학교에 재학 중인 남녀 학생 176명이 연구에 참여하였다. 긍정 및 부정 정서는 국제정서그림체계의 사진자극에 음악을 결합한 동영상을 통해 유발하였고, 위험 인식은 영역에 대한 위험 인식과 가상 상황에서의 위험 인식 두 가지를 측정하였으며 위험행동은 드라이빙 게임을 통해 측정하였다. 마지막으로 의도적 통제 척도와 감각추구 성향 척도를 사용하여 정서와 위험인식, 위험행동 사이에 의도적 통제와 감각추구 성향이 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 긍정 및 부정 정서와 성별은 대학생들의 위험인식과 관계가 있었다. 여자들은 남자보다 위험인식을 더 높게 했고, 주로 긍정적인 정서가 유발될 때 위험인식을 더 높게 했다. 남자들은 긍정 또는 부정 정서가 유발되었을 때 위험인식을 더 낮게 했다. 둘째, 긍정 및 부정 정서와 성별은 위험행동과 관계가 있었다. 남자 대학생들은 긍정적인 정서가 유발되었을 때 위험행동을 더 많이 했다. 마지막으로, 대학생들의 의도적 통제 수준은 위험인식, 위험행동과 관계가 없었지만 감각추구 성향이 높을수록 위험인식을 낮게 하였고, 위험행동을 많이 하였다.
