본 연구는 골프선수의 개인적 특성에 따른 멘토링 경험과 자기관리, 스
포츠수행전략의 차이를 분석하는데 일차적인 목적이 있으며, 이를 토대로
멘토링 경험과 자기관리, 스포츠수행전략에 대해 수립된 구조모형의 적합
도를 검증하는데 최종적인 목적이 있다. 따라서 2013년 현재 중.고 골프협
회, 대학골프협회에 등록되어 있는 골프선수를 모집단으로 선정 한 후, 성
별과 연령 등의 규모비례확률(probability proportionate to size)을 고려하
여 총 510명을 집락무선표집(cluster random sampling)을 하였으며, 수도
권(서울, 경기) 지역에 소재한 고등학교와 대학교 골프선수로서 전국골프
대회 이상의 참가 경험이 있는 골프선수로 선정하였다. 설문지의 이중기
입, 기입누락, 편향적 기입 등이 발견된 11부의 자료를 제외한 총 499부의
설문 반응을 본 연구의 최종자료로 채택하여 자료분석에 이용하였으며,
다음과 같은 결론을 도출하였다.
첫째, 골프선수의 개인적 특성에 따른 멘토링 경험은 성별에 따라 경
력관련기능과 심리사회적기능이 남자가 여자에 비해 모두 높았으며, 경력
에 따라 10년이상 집단이 5-10년 집단 보다 심리사회적기능이 높았다. 경기력 수준이 상 집단과 중 집단이 하 집단에 비해 경력관련기능이 높았
고, 경기력 상 집단이 하 집단보다 심리사회적기능과 역할모형기능이 높
았다. 자기관리는 성별에 따라 대인관리가 남자가 여자보다 높았으며, 경
기력 수준이 상, 중, 하 집단 순으로 정신관리 요인이 높았고, 경기력 수
준이 상 집단이 하 집단 보다 훈련관리 요인이 높았다. 스포츠수행전략은
성별에 따른 컨디션 요인이 남자가 여자보다 높았으며, 소속에 따른 고등
학생이 대학생보다 혼잣말 요인이 높았다. 경력에 따른 10년 이상 집단이
5-10년 집단 보다 긴장풀기 요인이 높았으며, 경기력 수준이 상 집단이
중, 하 집단 보다 심상목표설정 요인이 높았고, 경기력 상, 중 집단이 하
집단 보다 긴장풀기 요인이 높았고, 경기력 수준이 상 집단이 하 집단 보
다 컨디션 요인이 높았다.
둘째, 골프선수의 멘토링 경험, 자기관리, 스포츠수행전략 간의 구조
모형은 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 멘토링 경험이 자기관리에,
자기관리가 스포츠수행전략에 직접효과가 있었으며, 멘토링 경험과 스포
츠수행전략 간에는 간접적인 효과가 있었다.
결론적으로 멘토링 경험과 자기관리, 자기관리와 스포츠수행전략 간
에 직접적인 인과관계가 성립되었으며, 멘토링 경험이 스포츠수행전략에
는 간접적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 결과로 보아 골
프 선수들의 스포츠수행전략을 더욱 향상시키기 위한 방안으로 긍정적 멘
토링 경험을 적극 활용하여 선수들의 자기관리를 향상시킴으로서 결과적
으로 스포츠수행전략을 평소 및 시합 상황에서 경기력 향상을 위하여 원
활히 실행할 수 있을 것이다.
