The purpose of this study is to investigate developmental nature of appreciate recreation experience during the Himalaya tracking; the study focused on the participants personal perspectives and observed their stream of consciousness during their tracking experience. The data were collected by three different methods; on-site participant observation, individual daily record and group interview. The participants composed of the male and female individuals from 6 different regions, the individuals wrote daily experience and after dinner the group had interview for about 2 hours during their Nepal Himalaya Rangtang tracking; the group interview had recorded and transcribed after. Based on the interview data and daily records, the researcher investigated and analyzed the research questions through qualitative research technique. The results are as follow :

First, as adventure appreciative recreation perspectives what is the sense of place in Himalaya and its tracking? In the study, the participants showed their indulgence of Himalaya snowy mountains while they were observing the nature; such as taking pictures, watching vegetation changes in different altitudes, the participants had learned the purity of the nature and through the experiences they seemed to find self-examination and enlightenment of their life.
Second, as adventure appreciates recreation perspectives what phrases does the Himalaya tracking has, preparation, immersion, and separation. In three phases of on-site, appreciative recreation experience whereof the participants concentrate? Mckay, etl, al (2012) had investigated when ‘focus on environment’ factors increase, ‘focus on self’ factors were significantly decrease. Therefore, the study concluded that these two factors show a potentially inverse relationship. However, this study investigated focus on environment and self increased simultaneously during Himalaya tracking, which indicated an inverse relationship of these two factors are not true : in preparation phrase, focus on others strongly appeared where in immersion phrase focus on task appeared strongly, focus on environment and self appeared continuously intensive in all-phrases.

Third, as adventure appreciates recreation perspectives what potential does the Himalaya tacking has?

The participants had endured the high altitude medical problem while they were tracking; the tracking course also caused exhaustion of one’s physical strength, the tracking experience might caused the participants to mediate the life and understand great meaning of the nature. Sport is a competition to win but in the mountains the opponent to win is I. I should know how to control myself. Often many accidents in mountains occur because of one’s greed or a person does not know about him or herself. It is important for a person to learn about self through self-communing experience. An adventure appreciate recreation is a great experience which one could learn about self through experiencing the great nature.

Key words : appreciate recreation, experience, himalaya tracking, the sense of place
