This studies was conducted to verify the correlation between vegetation and environmental factors of Picea jezoensis community in subalpine zone of Mt. Kyebang, Mt. Jiri and Mt. Deogyu 39 releves set up and was carried out to analyze ordination. P. jezoensis community was classified into Acer ukurunduense subcommunity, Quercus mongolica subcommunity, Syringa reticulata var. mandshurica subcommunity and Picea jezoensis typical subcommunity.
The acidity of the forest soil in the surveyed area was, on average, in range of pH 4.15 to pH 4.42. And the available phosphate (P2O5) was 4.40mg/kg to 11.74mg/kg, organic matter(O.M.) was 15.43% to 20.14% and total nitrogen(TN) was 0.51% to 0.85% and cation exchange capacity(CEC) was the value of 27.12cmol+/kg to 34.34cmol+/kg and soil moisture was 39.24% to 49.98%.
The order of important value of the forest community with DBH 2cm above plants was P. jezoensis(89.22), Acer komarovii(30.50), Abies koreaana(18.81), Rhododendron schilippenbachii(18.10), Sorbus commixta(17.19), Betula ermanii(16.89), Pinus koraiensis(16.80), Taxus cuspidata(12.45), Acer ukurunduense(11.73).
As the result of the correlation between communities and environmental factors of P. jezoensis community, the elevation, available phosphate, direction, soil moisture had the high correlation. A. ukurunduense subcommunity was dispersed in sites where elevation is high and the availability of phosphate and soil moisture are high. Otherwise, Q. mongolica subcommunity was dispersed in sites where elevation is low and the availability of phosphate and soil moisture are low. And S. reticulata var. mandshurica subcommunity and Picea jezoensis typical subcommunity were dispersed in sites elevation and the availability of phosphate and soil moisture are medium.
According to diameter of breast height analysis results. P. jezoensis will maintain dominant position because they had a J-type in reverse.
