The purpose of this study is to develop the assessment tool of front and side movement for qualitative analysis of the sports technique about running jump heading skill movement of soccer. The assessment tool was processed according to the study on literature and the opinions of soccer experts, and a content validity investigation (CVI) was carried out by the group of experts.
To test the completed tool''s reliability, elementary school amateur players, elite players and middle school elite players were divided into 10 advanced level, 10 middle level and 10 low level players according to their career. After recording their running jump heading movements on a video, the test was carried out by seven assessors who have KFA coach certification higher than 3rd level and whose career as a soccer player is more than 10 years. To verify its reliability, the tool was processed by Cronbach-alpha coefficients, Intra-class correlation(ICC) and ANOVA.
The study is summarized as follows.
First, total 28 questions were developed with 17 front and 11 side questions, deleting two questions of which CVI figures were lower than 80% out of the 30 preliminary questions based on the study on literature and the opinions of soccer experts.
Sencond, Cronbach-alpha coefficients in the assesment tool showed more than 0.98, and the reliability of 17 front and 11 side questions were 0.989 and 0.984 respectively.
Third, the assesment tool developed in this study was verified as a reliable tool since the ICC figure of every question showed more than 0.75.
Finally, the tool seems to evaluate the subjects'' running jump heading movements because some meaningful differences of running jump heading movements among 30 subjects were shown after investigating reliability of evaluation value of all levels by tools (p<.001). To investigate these differences concretely, Tukey post test was conducted. The result of Tukey post test showed clear level differentiation in every movement, and as level went up, its number got higher.
Therefore, the assessment tool developed in this study got validity and reliability of the questions to evaluate running jump heading movements of soccer players, and will be used as a useful indicator to train and evaluate running jump heading skill correctly.
