디젤엔진에서 실린더별 연료 분사량 차이, 정확하지 못한 연료 분사시기, 실린더의 연소압력의 불균일 등의 여러 가지 요인에 의하여 여러가지 실린더들 중에서 연소압력이 저하되는 실린더가 발생할 수 있다.
이 연구에서는 엔진의 CKP센서, CMP센서의 신호를 이용하여 실린더별 크랭크 각속도(시간간격)를 측정하였으며, 측정된 각속도(시간간격)와 인젝터 연료 분사량을 근거로 각속도(시간간격)와 연료 분사량과의 상관관계를 입증하였다. 실린더별 크랭크 각속도(시간간격)와 연료 분사량과의 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 시간간격이 증가한 실린더는 해당 실린더의 연료 분사량이 감소하였기 때문으로 판단되었다.
따라서, 위와 같은 결론으로부터 이 논문의 연구결과는 특정한 실린 더의 크랭크 각속도(시간간격) 정보를 이용하여 해당 실린더에 설치된 인젝터의 정상 또는 불량(또는 고장)을 판정하는 중요한 정보로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
