현대인들의 삶의 형태가 다양해지면서 외모 역시 자신의 경쟁력을 보여주는
중요한 수단이 되면서 외적 이미지의 표현과 표출에 관심이 집중되는 사회적 현
상이 나타나고 있다. 자신의 개성과 외모를 잘 표현하는 가장 빠르고 효과적인
헤어스타일은 이미지에 있어 시작의 기준이 되면서 삼차원적 인체 예술 작업으로
큰 영향을 주기 때문이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 과산화수소 농도, 반응 온도, 처
리 횟수에 따라 시간을 변화시켜 처리한 후 탈색 모발의 색도 변화, 물리적, 형태
학적 변화를 분석하였다.
과항산암모늄을 주성분으로 하는 1제와 과산화수소 농도 3%, 6%, 9%를 제 2제를
1:2비율로 혼합하여 시료 모발에 도포 후 호일로 봉하여 약 40℃의 열로 20분, 30
분, 50분으로 분류하고 모발의 탈색 처리횟수를 각 1회, 2회로 분류하였다.
그 결과 탈색 모발의 색도 관찰에서 시간과 농도에 따라 탈색을 처리한 후 색
도 변화를 살펴 본 결과 과산화수소의 농도 와 처리시간이 길어질수록 L*,a*,b*
은 육안적 관찰과 색도 측정에서 모두 증가하였으며, 탈색 횟수가 늘어남에 따라
L*값과 b*값은 증가 하였으나 a*값은 탈색 횟수와 반응 시간이 증가 할 수 록
감소하는 결과를 보였다.
모발의 굵기와 인장강도 측정은 과산화수소 농도, 방치시간, 처리횟수에 따라
모발의 굵기는 정상모발 보다 감소하였다. 화학적 시술의 종류에 따라 표피층이
느슨해지면서 모발의 굵기가 증가 할 수도 있으나, 시술 횟수가 반복되면 큐티클
층이 용해되고 박리되어 굵기가 감소하는 것으로 사료된다.
주사현미경(SEM) 관찰을 통한 모발의 형태학적 변화에서도 탈색 처리 온도와

시간, 과산화수소농도가 증가함에 따라 표피층이 흘러내림이 심하고 떨어져 나감
도 관찰 할 수 있으며, 단백질이 빠져 나옴으로 인해 거칠고 손상되는 결과를 볼
수 있었다. 그러므로 미용 서비스 산업에서는 모발 손상을 최소화하기 위하여 과
산화수소 농도와 반응 시간은 고객에 맞는 시술 서비스를 실시한다면 기존 고객
서비스 만족으로 인해 고정 고객이 확보되며, 미용서비스 산업이 발전 될 것이다.
과산화수소 농도가 반응 시간 차이에 따라서 모발 손상 정도를 학문적으로 응용
하여 연구 한다면 모발 손상에 관한 기초자료가 될 것으로 사료된다.
