This study examines the impact of housing poverty factors such as minimum residential standards, housing cost burden, housing instability, and public rental housing experience on housing environmental satisfaction by focusing on differences between low-income and ordinary-income households. Using data drawn from the Korean Welfare Panel Study (12th-18th waves), this research conducts regression analysis using fixed-effect models to identify the dynamic relationships between housing poverty factors and housing environmental satisfaction. The main findings are as follows. First, the percentage of households failing to meet minimum residential standards is higher among low-income households. Second, the level of housing environmental satisfaction is higher for ordinary-income households compared to low-income households. Third, both households show lower housing environmental satisfaction if they do not meet minimum housing standards, experience housing instability, and reside in rental housing facilities. Fourth, the negative effects of failing to meet minimum housing standards on housing environmental satisfaction are stronger for low-income households. Finally, while low-income households are more likely to get benefit from public rental housing in terms of housing environmental satisfaction, ordinary-income households are more affected by location instability. Based on these findings, we suggest policy implications to improve housing environmental satisfaction.
