The purpose of this study is to comprehensively analyze the relationship between healthy lifestyle habits, such as sleep quality, physical activity, and frequency of breakfast consumption, and mental well-being indicators including life satisfaction, happiness, and depression among middle school students. This study utilized data from the third wave (2020) of the Korean Children and Youth Panel Survey (KCYPS), conducted by the National Youth Policy Institute, focusing on students born in 2008. A total of 2,389 responses were analyzed using variables such as gender, urban scale, exercise time, and perceived health status. Data were processed using SPSS 25.0, employing frequency analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The findings are as follows: First, all three lifestyle variables showed significant associations with life satisfaction, with sleep quality having the greatest influence. Second, each lifestyle factor was significantly related to happiness, with sleep quality again exerting the strongest effect. Third, sleep quality, physical activity, and breakfast frequency were negatively associated with depression, and sleep quality was found to have the most substantial impact. Based on these results, practical and applicable strategies such as “Digital Detox” campaigns, “Breakfast Day” projects, and health challenge-based mobile applications are recommended to promote healthy lifestyle habits in adolescents. These strategies can help improve sleep, encourage regular breakfast consumption, and increase physical activity, while also fostering self-directed behavioral changes.
