The main purpose of this study is to analyze major issues regarding urban design in South Korea and propose strategic directions based on them. The research methodology includes web crawling using the TEXTOM platform, followed by TF-IDF and CONCOR analyses, which were conducted using Python 3.11.0 and UCINET software. The TF-IDF analysis extracted key terms, including urban, design, public, planning, and competition. Meanwhile, the CONCOR analysis identified seven thematic clusters, such as future-oriented innovation, knowledge-based regional development, and participatory governance. A review of the Seoul City Urban Design Guidelines Ver. 3.0, the 2025 Daejeon Metropolitan City Urban Design Master Plan, and the Jeonju Urban Design Basic Plan 2016 led to the identification of eleven fundamental principles. In addition, seven experts assessed the strategic directions of the seven thematic clusters based on these eleven fundamental principles. Based on their findings, the author proposed urban design strategies. However, this study is limited by a lack of regional diversity and a small sample size. Future research should integrate diverse regional cases and refine the review methodology.
