The purpose of this study is to examine minimalist and maximalist design trends in contemporary Vietnamese fashion and to provide data that will assist Korean fashion brands in exporting fashion products and Vietnam local fashion brands. Photographs from the Vietnam fashion collection as presented over the last four years, from the 2021 spring/summer season to the 2024-25 fall/winter season were collected for this research. Following the removal of duplicates based on expert evaluation, 971 samples were selected for analysis. The data were analyzed using SPSS 26 for frequency analysis. The results are as follows: Vietnamese fashion was classified as minimalist, maximalist, and eclectic. Minimalism was characterized as minimal, simple, repetitive, and as including decorative accents. Maximalism was characterized as avant-garde, ornamental, and voluminous. Eclectic style was classified as a combination of minimal(maximal) upper clothing and maximal(minimal) lower clothing and minimal silhouette with maximal decoration.
