The purpose of this study is to explore the housing stressors which are the causes related to housing that affect the stress of metropolitan residents in a multidimensional manner. For this purpose, online survey was conducted targeting residents of Seoul, Gyeonggi-do, and six major metropolitan cities. The relationship between the stress level of respondents and housing stressors was analyzed with SPSS25. The main results are as follows: There were significant differences between groups depending on age, gender, number of family members, presence of children, age of first child, income, housing type, housing size, length of residence, type of occupancy, etc. The stress level was high in people in their 30s, single-person households, and households raising young children. The housing stressors that affect the increase in stress were social discrimination, burden of education expenses, burden of overall consumption expenditures, burden of housework, perceived environmental pollution, burden of housing expenses, and burden of child care. Housing stressors that help relieve stress included mental health awareness, social stability, satisfaction with income level, job satisfaction, satisfaction with friend relationships, satisfaction with family relationships, housing stability, good indoor air quality, overall housing satisfaction, satisfaction with medical and health infrastructure, and overall community satisfaction.
