This research paper investigates the influence of Project-Based Learning (PBL) on enhancing students' critical thinking abilities in educational settings. The research employed a mixed-method design, combining quantitative assessments of critical thinking scores with qualitative insights from participant interviews. Participants included educators and students from diverse regional universities, with the experimental group engaging in PBL activities while the control group followed traditional instructional methods. Quantitative analysis revealed an essential improvement in critical thinking scores among students in the experimental group post-PBL, demonstrating PBL's effectiveness in fostering higher-order cognitive skills like problem-solving and analytical thinking. Meanwhile, the control group showed minimal improvement, highlighting the comparative advantages of PBL. Qualitative data discussed various benefits of PBL, including enhanced collaboration, deeper engagement with course content, and increased student motivation. Participants expressed satisfaction with PBL's ability to facilitate real-world application of knowledge and cultivate essential skills for lifelong learning. These results contribute to the literature by emphasizing the importance of PBL in preparing students for challenges in the modern workforce. The study underscores the importance of active learning approaches in fostering critical thinking and enhancing educational outcomes. Future research should explore additional factors influencing the implementation and sustainability of PBL initiatives across diverse educational contexts.
