This study aimed to explore the meaning and essence of gynecologycal cancer survivor’s sexual life recovery experiences by collecting data from seven gynecological cancer survivors between April 1 and October 30,2023, using Colaizzi’s phenomenological method. This study used an applied qualitative design. The sexual life recovery experiences fo gynecological cancer survivors were organized into, nine theme collections, and three categories. The final themes and categories derived were “negatively changed sexual life”, “could not maintain sexual life due to fear and anxiety about cancer recurrence,” “decreased sexual desire due to pain and painful intercourse,” and “incorrect sexual knowledge.” Three theme collections of misunderstading’ were derived. In the newly strengthened relationship with husband category, three themes sere derived.
“feeling sorry for husband and emotional chamges,” “maintaining sexual intimacy in a new way” and “changed sexual life pattern” In the changing the direction of life for me category, three themes sere derived.
“changing to a positive self”, “living for my own body” and “trying new changes”. Contined development and intervention programs are necessary to help gynecological cancer survivors recover a healty sexual life.
