This study provides an interpretation of contemporary dance semiotics, using the methodological tool of Peirce Semiotics to analyse the work ⸀ Babel 7.16」 in detail for the dynamic interpretation of contemporary dance works. Through the logical analysis of contemporary dance, the aim is to enhance the understanding of the work and create a smooth communication channel between the choreographer and the audience. Above all, it provides a discourse to understand the relationship between artworks and iconic symbols, which develops into aesthetic symbols and creates an emotional character in artworks and art symbols. The research explores how iconic symbols in the dance evolve into aesthetic symbols, shaping emotional expression within the artwork. Key elements of the performance, such as spatial transformations, restricted movements, and live music, create a rich, three-dimensional experience. The symbols in the dance reflect polarized aspects of life—like freedom versus restraint, love versus separation—and convey universal human emotions such as communication, power, isolation, and unity. This semiotic approach offers a valuable framework for interpreting the "modernity" of contemporary dance.
