The difficulty in tailgate while closing for consumers is one of the most prominent issues among diverse moving part in IQS/NCBS assessment. Considering the current ES/TDP related to tailgate performance, there’s not enough technique to evaluate closing performance for consumers. Tailgate performance is mainly evaluated by gas pressure of lifter under various environment, so it is far from consumer complaints pointed out in external indexes. Also, the current evaluation technique is not only insufficient to improve closing performance fundamentally, but also the M/H and cost are excessive due to the nature of the chamber evaluation that requires at least 8 hours of soaking.
The objective of this study is to propose countermeasure for issues mentioned above. First, we present an actual vehicle evaluation technique based on consumer usability. By quantifying the level of satisfaction consumers feel when closing the tailgate, the development performance goal is established and the tailgate closing performance of future development models is strengthened. Second, we present a prior evaluation technique for tailgate operation performance. Through equipment that has secured versatility for all vehicle models, practical usability is reflected in the drawing stage, and the M/H required for tailgate opening/closing performance development in the development stage is reduced. Finally, it is possible to secure product value corresponding to the external brand value by strengthening the HKMC tailgate opening and closing.
