This study aims to minimize the noise generated by the moving display technology within vehicles. Recently, the number of displays in vehicles has been increasing, and displays of various sizes and shapes that consider user convenience and interior aesthetics are becoming more important. Consequently, the demand for moving display technology is growing to address the obstruction of the driver’s view caused by fixed displays and to save interior space. However, the noise generated during the movement of displays can cause discomfort to the driver in the confined space of a vehicle and negatively impact the image of premium vehicles. Additionally, with the increasing demand for autonomous driving, the time drivers spend inside the vehicle is expected to increase, making the study of operational noise essential.
This study addresses the noise generated during display operation while driving and stationary and introduces various approaches to control noise levels. First, the quality of the driving noise was analyzed. Through this, structural changes were made by applying noise source blocking structures and changing the operation guide. Finally, the noise level according to the electrical signal was analyzed by changing the motor control method, and the operational noise level was optimized according to the motor speed profile. Through these various approaches, the noise level generated during the movement of in-vehicle displays was effectively controlled to reach the development target level.
