This study focuses at how blockchain technology can improve the healthcare supply chain which is afflicted by vulnerabilities and inefficiencies that were brought to light during the COVID-19 pandemic. The distribution of fake drugs and a lack of coordination and transparency are major problems that jeopardize the delivery of healthcare, especially in developing countries. This paper explores how the unique characteristics of blockchain, namely decentralization, immutability, and transparency, can address these problems through an in-depth examination of the available literature. The analysis focuses on blockchain’s potential to decrease the spread of counterfeit drugs and increase the legitimacy of medical supplies by securing data, facilitating interoperability, and offering traceability within the healthcare supply chain. Additionally, the paper examines several blockchain consensus techniques, such as Proof of Stake and Proof of Work, evaluating their suitability and efficiency for healthcare requirements. The study highlights obstacles including scalability and privacy issues despite the encouraging results, and it offers proposals for future blockchain incorporation into healthcare system. Thieresults show that blcokchain technology has a lot of potential to improve the transparency, effectiveness, and focus on patients in healthcare supply chains; nevertheless, more study and development are needed to get over current challenges.
