Animation movies are composed of various symbols and have functioned as an effective means of spreading traditional culture. This paper attempted to empirically explore the audience's propagation behavior of traditional cultural symbols in animation by taking a semiotic approach to animation movies. To this end, a propagation behavior model was developed to examine the correlation between each symbol in an animated movie and to explore the propagation path, and data were analyzed using SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 24.0 programs. According to the results of this study, it was found that Representamen and Objects of traditional cultures in animation movies had a significant effect on the interpretant, and Interpretant was found to have a significant effect on the propagation behavior. In addition, the results were found that Representamen and Object used Interpretant as paths to affect the propagation behavior.
