The hair loss market is expanding and becoming more active as the age of hair loss decreases along with recent changes in lifestyle and eating habits. Young people with strong individuality will have diverse methods of managing hair loss, so the hair loss industry will need to research and develop promotional strategies that reflect this. Accordingly, this study aims to identify meaningful hair loss management behaviors by lifestyle type of people in their 20s and provide basic data that can be used for research and marketing of functional cosmetics ingredients for hair loss relief. In addition, it was conducted for the purpose of studying various behaviors for hair loss prevention in people in their 20s. The 421 questionnaire responses were analyzed for factor analysis and multiple regression analysis using the SPSS v. 18.0 program.
Hair loss management behaviors were divided into treatment and wig use, cosmetics and device management, food intake, and hospital treatment. The lifestyle-seeking types were divided into trend-seeking, self-expression-seeking, and appearance-seeking types. According to the results of the analysis of hair loss management behaviors by lifestyle-seeking type of people in their 20s, there was no significant relationship between the trend-seeking lifestyle type and hair loss management behaviors such as treatment and wig use, but there was a significant relationship between cosmetics and device management(p<.05). The appearance-seeking type and the self-expression-seeking type were found to have a significant effect on procedures and wig use(p<.001), but cosmetics/device management, food intake, and hospital treatment did not have a significant effect.
