In this study, a basic study was conducted to use CGS, a by-product of coal gasification complex power generation, as a cement composite mixture. CGS was divided into 3,000 ㎠/g and 4,000 cm2/g, which are powder diagrams of general mixtures, and replaced with 25 % and 50 % of cement for comparative analysis with the basic characteristics of BFS and FA and mortar. As a result of the experiment, the fluidity of non-hardened mortar when CGS was incorporated was lower than that of the cement 100% test, and this tendency was greater as the powder degree was higher and the substitution rate increased. In the compressive strength of cured mortar, the initial strength significantly decreased when CGS was incorporated, and the decrease was greater as the substitution rate increased. However, in the long-term age, the enhancement rate was high due to the pozzolanic reaction, and the strength expression similar to that of FA was shown. It is considered effective to crush the powder to about 4,000 ㎠/g.
