Artificial intelligence, one of the key technologies of the fourth Industrial Revolution, aims to gain insight from such data and automatically provide optimal services tailored to individuals. In order to support the development of the artificial intelligence industry in Korea, data from various fields such as public, legal, education, culture, health, welfare, medical, agriculture, forestry, livestock and fisheries is collected and processed and opened for use. In order to collect, open, and widely utilize such sensitive data, it is necessary to strengthen security, such as encrypting the data so that it can be used more safely and blocking access by unauthorized users. However, big data utilization and data encryption are in conflict. Statistical analysis and artificial intelligence learning for natural language processing are impossible with data that has been encrypted. Therefore, a survey is conducted on the research trends of 'homomorphic encryption' for securely sharing sensitive information in the medical field.
