This study aims to analyze the spatial characteristics and service operation of outstanding cases of small-scale senior supportive housing, considering the increasing importance of aging in community amidst population aging and the potential expansion of such housing at the community level. To achieve this, a literature review, field investigation, and interviews with staff members or consultations with residents representations were conducted. The results revealed two primary housing types: share-house type (Case A) and independent-unit type (Cases B, C, and D). These housing types exhibited differences in the utilization of community spaces and service operations. Case A emphasized shared space usage and community-based programs, while Case C highlighted the integration of resident employment opportunities and diverse indoor and outdoor community spaces. Cases B and D commonly focused on providing services centered on leisure and health support. The services provided varied depending on the size and number of community spaces. The significance of this study lies in its comprehensive examination of the spatial planning and service operation features of small-scale elderly housing tailored to AIC. The findings can serve as foundational data for formulating supply plans for the future expansion of small-scale elderly housing at the community level.
