The purpose of this study was to analyze vertical expansion or horizontal expansion of School facilities in case of Gyeonggi-do. More than 55 years have passed, and it is difficult to see the mixed pattern caused by the numerous expansions, School facilities are buildings of the type of educational and research facilities, and they have been supplying facilities with the number of classes in anticipation of the needs of the region. In 1967, the School Facilities Standard Ordinance was implemented, and in terms of supplying School facilities according to demand, and it is difficult to expect accuracy from the common register or school history sheet that records the history of the expansion because it is prepared by non-experts. Therefore, we will analyze the expansion pattern of buildings before the 5th revision of the Education Department in 1987 and understand the main factors for choosing the expansion method. The results of this study were as follows; Upward Changes in the school site, a rapid increase in the number of classrooms, and the number of classrooms on the upper floors of the new construction seem to have determined the pattern of future expansion.
