This study aims to present the effectiveness of bare-handed exercise as an exercise therapy for preventing and treating metabolic diseases in obese women by clarifying the effect of bare-handed exercise on blood sugar stabilization and improvement of vascular aging in obese women. The study participants were 24 women aged 20-39 with a BMI of 25 kg/m² or higher. Each group was divided into an exercise group that performed a bare-handed exercise program and a control group that restricted all exercise and maintained normal daily life during the study period. Blood sugar and vascular aging were measured before and after the study and compared and analyzed. The exercise was performed without using additional resistance objects or special tools, bare-handed exercise using body weight and gravity resistance at an intensity of 60-75% of HRmax for 50 minutes, 3 times a week, for a total of 12 weeks.
Research results
1. 12 weeks of bare-handed exercise in obese women significantly reduced blood sugar, suggesting that it is an effective exercise for stabilizing blood sugar.
2. 12 weeks of bare-handed exercise in obese women significantly reduced vascular age, suggesting that it is an effective exercise for improving vascular aging.
Through this study, bare-handed exercise was found to have sufficient value in stabilizing blood sugar and improving vascular aging among metabolic disease factors in obese women, and it is expected that it can be suggested considering the accessibility of exercise therapy for obese people.
