With the rapid development of smart technology, smart homes are gradually becoming an indispensable part of people's lives. In order to better understand user requirements, this study aims to provide a more objective and in-depth analysis of user behavior, offering designers a nuanced and structured understanding to meet the diverse needs of users in the context of smart homes. Firstly, using Grounded Theory, preliminary data was collected through semi-structured interviews with 26 smart home users. Subsequently, the acquired data was systematically organized and coded to establish a foundational dataset of user requirements. Secondly, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) was employed to assess the importance of various user requirements, constructing a hierarchical structural model for a more comprehensive understanding of the distribution of user needs. The study results revealed that the core categories influencing users in the realm of smart homes and their respective weight percentages are as follows: Smart Interaction Experience (0.337), Privacy and Security (0.354), Functional Personalization and Portability (0.309). The top five factors in the leading category ranking are B10, B15, B9, B3, and B2. This study elucidates users' actual needs, expectations, and experiences in smart home environments, providing substantive guidance for future advancements in smart home technology and design. Through the integration of these two theoretical approaches, theoretical support is provided for designing and optimizing smart home systems. This integrated theoretical research method holds the potential to offer new theoretical perspectives for sustainable development and user satisfaction within the smart home domain.
