Purpose: This study aims to examine the impact of a jump rope exercise on electroencephalogram (EEG) and concentration levels in male elementary school students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Additionally, this study aims to analyze changes in EEG patterns and concentration indices to evaluate whether jump rope exercise could serve as an effective intervention for treating ADHD.
Method: Male elementary school students diagnosed with ADHD participated in a 12-week jump rope exercise program, conducted three times per week. Data analysis was performed using SPSS (Windows Version 12.0), with descriptive statistics used to assess participants’ physical characteristics. A two-way repeated measures ANOVA was conducted to analyze differences both within and between the two groups, with a significance level set at α=.05.
Results: The results were as follows: Statistically significant differences were observed in both the EEG patterns and concentration levels following the intervention.
Conclusion: The 12-week jump rope exercise program resulted in positive changes in EEG patterns and concentration levels in male elementary school students with ADHD. This results suggest that jump rope exercise may be a a suitable physical activity program for children with ADHD, potentially serving as an intervention to help alleviate and improve their symptoms.
