This study sought to determine what type of guidance a leader has in dance education that affects dance performance, and in this process, what kind of grit and mindset have a mediating effect on improving dance performance. A survey was conducted on dance majors from April 1 to May 30, 2024. Data processing involved multiple regression analysis and three-step mediation regression analysis to identify hypotheses. The research results are as follows. First, among the sub-factors of leader type, the factor with the highest influence on dance performance was identified as social support, followed by positive rewards. Second, social support, a sub-factor of leader type, was confirmed to completely mediate persistence and grit to affect dance performance. Third, social support and positive rewards, which are sub-factors of leader type, were confirmed to influence dance performance ability through complete mediation of growth mindset. The significance of this study is that it was confirmed that a dance instructor's social support is a major leadership element, and that persistence grit and growth mindset are key factors for improving dance performance. Through this research, It is expected that through this research, leaders will prepare practical actions and create an educational environment to improve dance performance in dance education.
